Business description:

KASA Partners is a full-service real estate development and project management company that specializes in managing the design and construction of office & technology projects, multifamily residential apartments, and non-profit, for-profit and government institutions. Some of our clients include Salesforce, Autodesk, SFMOMA and a number of private and public institutions to manage their real estate needs.

Company motto, corporate philosophy, etc.:

Developing partnerships to build thriving places for people to live, work, learn and play. We love what we do and we have fun doing it.

Hobbies, how you spend your days off, etc.:

I love to spend my days off with friends and family, like swimming and having a BBQ in the backyard on a hot summer day.

Birthplace:

Tokyo, Japan, but I was born as an American citizen and moved to California when I was seven years old.

Impressions of the Bay Area:

I believe the Bay Area is the center for innovative and progressive thinking in the US and in the world, which is why it is such an exciting place to live. It has always reinvented itself because it attracts people from all over the world that want to disrupt conventional ways of doing things. Because of this, I believe it will always be a great place to do business.

Things to try in California:

Wine tasting in Dry Creek Valley near Healdsburg. Biking or walking along the Strand, a 22-mile path from Redondo Beach to Santa Monica. Watch the sunset and have a drink from the back deck of Nepenthe in Big Sur.

What you're passionate about:

I am passionate about education. I volunteer at several Bay Area high schools with a program called UrbanPlan. I’m also a school board trustee. My Issei grandmother, who was in the internment camp during WWII always said that people can take things away from you at any time but they can never take away your education.

Hidden talent:

Cooking tasty pasta without a recipe.
